The Lighthouse Crew

We love working with businesses on sustainability and have a passion for the circular economy.

To meet our sustainability goals, many roads lead back to resource efficiency and circularity. It’s not always that straightforward, so with more than 20 years of combined experience of our team, we see our role as translators and guides.

Lighthouse specialise in circular business models and the opportunities they offer to do business more sustainably. We understand how this slice of sustainability sits within the wider landscape and how you can position yourself to succeed.

At Lighthouse, we are motivated by seeing our clients gain confidence as they first understand, begin to lead, then really shine with a circular mindset at the heart of what they do. We have worked with some businesses for several years and are a loyal advocate for anyones business who is working hard to be more sustainable.

Emma Burlow – Founder and Master Trainer

Emma founded Lighthouse in 2020 to deliver impactful advice, coaching and training. She began to focus on Carbon Literacy as a tool to build capacity and empower employees in 2021, having led the team to deliver more than 50 courses and train almost 700 learners to date. Emma has trained senior leadership teams from Beko PLC, KBR Inc, Crown Worldwide, Turley, Saba UK and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund.

Emma is committed to increasing capacity in the training sector, as this is currently a bottleneck for supporting the population to access climate emergency training, hence Lighthouse recently developed and certified a Carbon Literacy Train the Trainer course.

Emma is an approachable and motivating trainer who uses her 25 years’ experience working with business to quickly cut through the challenges they face and give individual and bespoke attention to everyone she works with.

Georgie has since specialised in circular economy consultancy and executive education, including working alongside the NICER CE Hub team and supporting the Circular Economy Masterclass.

Carbon literacy trained and with first-hand experience of the knowledge that needs to be shared, Georgie brings strategic and operational oversight to help deliver Lighthouse’s mission to train an army… because every job is a climate job.

Jo’s background lies in multi-stakeholder engagement, project management and strategy. After a decade spent refining her systems thinking and people skills within local authority, and running a business delivering training and development within the adventure sector, she returned to her sustainability roots several years ago with a focus on making our collective impact on the world better, rather than bigger.

She has been working with Lighthouse since 2021, doing what she does best: Making Stuff Happen.

Charlotte is a diligent project manager with strong client relationship management skills, holding a key role in developing and managing Lighthouse’s sustainability training.
